  1. What does this mean exactly?

Remember, this is a 2-Meat+PLUS KCBS Competitive Series Competition.

What is the Competitive Series? Are there more meats to cook??

  2. Rick, According to KCBS, the Competitor Series:

“With a Competitors Series, the Organizer chooses the types of meats to be cooked, instead of the 4 standard meats used by KCBS. In addition, the Competitors Series contest allows for alternative heats sources. Traditional sanctioning fees and costs apply. The Competitors Series Contest is not eligible for the American Royal or the Jack Daniels World Championship. In addition, teams who participate in a Competitors Series Contest will not receive KCBS Team of the Year points.”

For our Festival, many of our faithful competitors were “aging out” of the Backyard category. Now, they can come back and compete. We’re still hosting 2 meats – Chicken and Ribs – and are adding the Anything Butt category. Want to submit Grandma’s Banana Pudding? Do it. A ham smoked according to a generations old recipe? We’re in. A new creation in slaw? We’re all about it. This fun addition pulls out all the stops.

    Hope this helps!

  3. We are trying to register for the bbq competition on May 11, 2019 in Murfreesboro but the forms are saying 2017. Are we suppose to use the 2017 form. Thank

  4. Hi, The forms are dated 2017 because that’s when they were created. It’s an unfortunate part of the web site template. Non-profits = you have to make compromises! This form will work!

  5. I’m wanting to make sure the Cooker’s Application is for 2019 before I pay the money. The other 2 applications have 2019 next to them.
